New to the boards here - hi all! I've already strted up a tribute CD to UK thrashers Onslaught (which can be seen at www.myspace.com/onslaughttribute) and there have recently been talks of a Coroner tribute too. Now I only stumbled across this site very recently and I'm quite impressed with all the work Carol (?) has put in, so I thought I'd ask about on here to see what people may reckon to such an idea? Get a few bands to do a Coroner cover or two each, record 'em, submit 'em, then throw them up for free download on here or something. OPINIONS AND IDEAS WELCOME Bearing in mind that so far, this is just an idea. Nothing is going to happen until I get an idea of what sorta of reception it'd recieve, and after learning that Marky lurks around on these forums I'd only do it if he gave me the go ahead to do so (much in the same way I did with Onslaught). 3, 2, 1... GO! -Dave

Hey man, I remember you from the DESTRUCTION forum, I don't think I remember seeing a post of what happened with this ONSLAUGHT tribute at all. Anyway, I admire the idea. I have some covers from MISANTHROPE (R.I.P. "Intro" and "Reborn Through Hate"), SCEPTIC "Paralyzed Mesmerized" and WEHRWOLFE "Masked Jackal" which are really calssy and may find a place in such a compilation. However, I will prefer more covers from more band (the more the merrier).

Reckon Pt.1 and pt.2 would be on the same track or would they be seperated (if you know what I mean)? Sometimes when people do these things they like to do a 2-in-1 thing.
If this were to go ahead I'd personally wanna see;
Arrogance In Uniform Divine Step Nails Hurt Spiral Dream Reborn Through Hate Status: Still Thinking Totentanz Tunnel of Pain Die By My Hand Semtex Revolution Sirens
And probably something obscure like Gliding Above Whilst Being Below. That'd be cool.

Anything really, it could be long as hell haha. Its just a matter of finding bands (preferrably unsigned ones, as it makes legal issues much easier) who'd be willing to participate. That was the only slight problem with The Devil's Legion - a lot of bands didn't want to do anything for it because they're essentially losing money through recording a cover or two thats going to be used soley for promotion purposes. And now look at it - bands like Blood Tsunami are doing it hahaha. See, if this became a reality and a lot of bands get interested in such an idea then I'd happily go through with it and maybe even try and get it out through Noise (much in the same way I'm trying to get the Legion released through Candlelight). Even though Noise fucked Coroner over. Assholes. Still, if anyone knows any band/s that might be up for this then say so - it'd be of great help,as I for one really like this idea nowadays haha

Hey !!! Hell yeah !!! I'm in for it. I'm playing in a Coroner cover-band called GRIN! On our play list, at this moment: - GRIN!, the complete works. - Masked Jackal - Devine Step - Semtex revolution - Metamorphosis Working on: - Tunnel of pain - About life - Sudden fall - The Favorite Game - Shifter - Golden Cashmere Sleeper, Pt. 1 (Golden Cashmere Sleeper, Pt. 2 is optional. (Not live)) Wish list: - Why it hurts - Die by my hands - Mistress of Deception - Absorbed We still got a lot of work ahead of us. Even wurst, we're currently out of a drummer. But if I ask the "old" one (22 years) he will do this for us, just for keeping the Coroner-spirit alive. ;D So, when this takes off, please sent me an E-mail.

All you'd need to do is record one (maybe two) Coroner tracks - but not from the same record. That'd suck a bit haha. Divine Step and Masked Jackal No idea when/if this well happen yet but its looking very likely! My band Bloodbrawl are going to cover either Internal Conflicts, Grin or Arrogance in Uniform (if we can find the bloody lyrics!) so heads up people :lol:

Well, o.k., what kind of format do you want to have the recording? What kind of quality. (A studio cost money, home recording is YouTube quality) Did you ask permission to bring out other peoples music? Lyrics: www.darklyrics.com/Oops, just checked it, ...no death cult demo lyrics, ...sorry.

( www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9RXDpisZbE&feature=channel_page ) <-- That was 9 months ago... Working on the solo as we speak / write Is it an idea to make a myspace website "tribute to Coroner" where all the stuff will be collected? YouTube / MP3 Downloads of cover-bands / Links to other Coroner sites like this one, and so on...

Exactly. The idea would probably follow the Onslaught tribute very closely (www.myspace.com/onslaughttribute) so yeah, I could make a MySpace for it no problem!
ANymore ideas anyone?
