Damn. Ah well, I live in hope that one day it'll happen. Might happen as soon as we can imagine... I think the chances are pretty good

No More Color with just a slight advantage over all the rest.

Been avoiding answering this one for a while. Having given me a good excuse to hear all the albums this week I'm gonna have to surprise myself and say Grin. I thought Colour or Vortex would win. I still think those two are the definitive Coroner works but there is just something about Grin. It opened doors for the band but still maintained the technicality, neo classical parts on the solo's, Ron's best vocals ever and Marky's continued improvement on drums. I'm glad we a chance to hear where they might have gone with the new stuff on S/T but the atmosphere from Grin isn't there. I have a feeling if they had stayed together the next few albums would have blown our minds.

Today my fave is 'PFD'.
But I've just come out of a phase of giving 'Mental' lots of repeated play. I love it that at any given time I can make a case for any of them to be my favourite...
REMASTER THEM ALL!!!

I'm with Sirius- any of them can be my favorite at any time. Presently, I'd say No More Color and Mental Vortex are up there.

at one time I was listening mostly to "Vortex", then I turned on "R.I.P.", followed by "Grin" worship (goes with the self titled "Coroner ) to go back to "Decadence" for a while (still think that this one sounds too much "dry" if you know what I meen, but tracks like "Shadow of a Lost Dream", "Absorbed" and "Voyage to Eternity" esp. with their lyrics can cut your head off ), I was having problems for a long time listening to "Color", as I had it on a REALY BAD tape record, but than I buyed some sort of a reissued CD and I am listening to it mostly nowa days; still, the firrst time I've heard it (on that same tape ), I was walkin on the street with my walkman on, and when I it came down to "D.O.A." and the first riff started I'd sayed to myself "Man! This sounds awesome!" and then the guys did started to play these riffs TWICE faster and I was like "WHAT THE FUCK ARE THESE GUYS DOING!?!?!?!!" and than I realised I was not talking to myself but I was shouting on the street and the people around me were looking me strange and... from a distance
so, there are times I prefer one album over an other but for the last few years if someone asks me "What is your favorite CORONER album?" and I can't simply point one, so I say "The whole discography"

My favorite Coroner album must be the self-titled one. But then again..., maybe it's like this:
R.I.P. : The guys had to prove them selfs and went over the top. I listen to this when i'm feeling nostalgic. Punishment fot decadence: Coroner's getting some structure. Blowing everything alway in metal-land. Love to play this as loud as possible. No more color: Same here. Mental Vortex: An absolute mind blower. I thought it couldn't get any better.... I was wrong! Great guitar-solo's. Grin!: A change of sound, a grow in identity. When this album came out, i thought they'd break through...(And they sould have) Coroner: There was no better way to say goodbye...and i always remenber...history...

I recently had a gap in Coroner listening, y'know how it is - checking out new stuff, other old stuff etc.
A few weeks ago I put the first 4 albums on constant cycle in my car - and... they....
CANNOT BE STOPPED!!
This is no surprise, of course - I love these albums. But they are especially amazing as they retain their quality regardless of how I age or how my life changes.
A good deal of other quality metal seems to grow tiresome, or not stand up to repeat play years later. That's the thing about Coroner - I'm always confident that'll never happen.
Current fave album PFD or NMC. Tough call. Both seem as exciting and fresh as when I first bought 'em.

No More Color and Mental Vortex, in that order.
Probably followed by RIP and then Decadence.
Grin was okay, but I prefer my Coroner to be more straight forward, noodly, and speedy.

All of them are awesome!!! My favourite is the collection of their original unearthly energy and vigour, that is, R.I.P. This was where I started with the band.. Those were the days... Still an unputdownable release, after all those years! Magic.
