What a surprise! I used to *love* Machine Head... Their first album, "Burn My Eyes" was way up there on my top ten of favorite albums of all times. Even their second album, "The More Things Change" was good. Then it was a downward spiral of nu-metal sprinkled with rap vocals that almost made me want to puke.
So, of course, like most metal fans, I quit paying attention to them...
And now (well, several months ago) they come back with this new album, "Through The Ashes of Empires", AND IT IS GREAT!! Powerful metal, real Machine Head, and no rap-crap vocals at all!
So, have you listened to their latest album and what do you think?
The opening song, "Imperium" is a real killer!
