This is in regards to the off-the-wall metal stuff you have, unlike the "regular/power" metal, like Metallica and Slayer and all (even Coroner would work, since they kicked so much ass! )
I'm dividing mine up into categories:
oldest metal in collection
Starz (1976)
Kiss (debatable, especially since this was Dynasty, their "disco" album)
"regular" or power metal (I guess you could call it--not much of it here!)
Metallica
Testament
King Kobra
The Scorpions
Vendetta (not proud of this one though! [long story, which I'd give a link to, but this part of my friend's web site is down...let's just say that I THOUGHT this was the excellent Noise Germany band, but I found out the hard way there was an American poser band by the same name!])
Slayer
Forced Entry
Scanner
Witchfynde (hmmm, sound familiar? )
Mama's Boys
Seduce
heavy metal with opera
Candlemass
heavy metal with folk
Skyclad
industrial metal
Voivod (that's how I view them, anyway, with their sound, not because of a drum machine, which they didn't use)
heavy metal with flute and organ
Bethzaida
Celtic Frost (category all by themselves, due to how much they changed!)
black/death/thrash metal (tons, not gonna go there)
heavy metal with funk
Mordred
humorous metal
Scatterbrain
dead horse ('course they touched on all kinds of stuff)
melodic metal
Golgotha
heavy metal with classical/opera
Therion
Christian metal
Mortification
Stryper (hate to admit the latter, but at least I only have one of their albums!)
stuff I don't know what category to put them into
Disharmonic Orchestra
Bal-Sagoth (whose main instrument is the keyboard [after their first album, that is; their debut was actually pretty heavy]..."symphonic metal", I guess)
