Machine Head played at the Arosa Villa club in Columbus, Ohio last night and, of course, I was there (I'm a big Machine Head fan -- especially of their first two albums.) I had seen them at that same club the year before and, as it was the first time, the show was a very intense and heavy blast of metal bliss!
Robert Flynn (vocalist) has really good stage presence and one of the most incredibly powerful voice I've ever heard live (can't help comparing his powerful and committed delivery to Phil Anselmo's -- one of my very favorite vocalists.) Dave McClain also distinguished himself with intense, precise and pounding drumming.
They played for almost 2 hours straight. Can't remember the whole set, but here's a list of what I do remember them playing:
From "Burn My Eyes" (1994):
Old Davidian Block I'm Your God Now A Thousand Lies None But My Own A Nation On Fire
From "The More Things Change..." (1997):
Ten Ton Hammer Take My Scars Struck A Nerve Down To None The Frontlines Spine Violate
From "The Burning Red" (1999):
Desire To Fire Nothing Left The Blood, The Sweat, The Tears Silver From This Day Exhale The Vile
From "Supercharger" (2001):
Declaration Bulldozer Crashing Around You All In Your Head American High Blank Generation Deafening Silence
They also played a few cover songs, among which "The Number Of The Beast" by Iron Maiden (gotta hear that Machine's Head way!)
If they come near your city, I highly recommend you go see them! Well worth it!

Seems like a cool show! 8) Though I really dig their first album as well as The Burning Red, I believe they have somewhat lost their spark - beginning to repeat themselves. I hate when bands do that u know! /Kalle

Yeah, maybe you're right... Although I think I prefer a band who somewhat repeat themselves (if what they repeat was originaly pleasing to my ears) rather than a band like Metallica who totally change their ways. I guess it's not given to any band to positively evolve like Coroner did with each new album
