Thanks for all the Grip Inc. news Kalle (refering to your 2 previous posts.)
It seems like I keep hearing about Grip Inc.'s side projects... and I can't help having this horrible feeling that Grip Inc. actually is the side project! They really don't seem very committed to their own band... That's too bad.
So, if Lombardo tours with Slayer this year, does this mean he's not going to have time to tour with Grip Inc. after the release of their new album? Damn, I really want to see them live! Aside from their exceptional music -- which DOES sound committed -- Grip Inc. feels like a second thought, a random jamming session that turned out well and, fortunately, was recorded...
Am I the only one feeling this way, or should I just be happy to see them spread their talent among other bands?
Just like with the Coroner guys, the chemistry between the Grip Inc. members made them produce metal that sounds like no other. It's so rare to hear original, brutal yet musically-inspired metal nowadays... I hope we're not going to lose that as we lost Coroner.

I totally agree - the members does not seem too comitted to what "should" be their main band = GRIP INC. Maybe that's why they: - don't have a homepage - have a screwed-up management - don't reply to e-mails In the "Lombardo 'temporary' in Slayer" thread, only Fantomas and Slayer are mentioned. Kind of odd I think. Also, I intended to go see them on the last tour, but all of a sudden they blew off the whole tour in the beginning of it, stating "sickness" as the reason. I was bummed. I really hope the "new album rumour" isn't some kind of bad joke from the management. That would kill me... and eventually them aswell. ;D

Well, I have a feeling that we are not going to have Grip Inc. around for very long... When a band's management is not committed, it's already a struggle, but when the BAND itself is not committed... As god-like a drummer Lombardo is, I think he just doesn't know what he wants, or he just enjoys going from band to band without focusing on anything. I would really like to know what's going on with this band and between the band members... Are they all uncommitted? Are some of them pushing to continue Grip Inc. while others don't really feel like it? Are they arguing/disagreeing about some aspects of the band? Are they just stuck with a stinky contract with a rotten record company as Coroner was? What's wrong with them?! Oh how I would like to interview them!! So many questions come to mind... I don't read magazines much... Has anyone ever read a Grip Inc. interview? What do they have to say? A band with such great music and inspiration, and with a drummer as skilled as Lombardo, could really go far if they wanted and if they were being properly promoted. I cannot imagine anyone who likes metal and wouldn't like Grip Inc.'s music!

Here's a link you may find enjoyable: chucksilverman.com/lombyinterview.htmlYou're absolutely right - but I believe way too few have discovered they exist.

Thanks for the link Kalle! It was really interesting to read about Lombardo's multiple activities! If you hadn't told me about Grip Inc. yourself, I may never have heard of them and, therefore, miss on one of the very best metal bands ever!
