So what's your favorite Grip Inc. tracks, solos, riffs, drums parts...? It's difficult to pick when all their stuff is of such high quality. Let's see... I think my very favorite tracks would be: Pathetic Liar I intensely love every single note and drum beat in this song! The restrained rhythm guitar at the beginning, which soon crashes into one of the most powerful and delectable riffs I've ever heard gives me goosebumps. The guitar solo, preceeded by that slow "wait-'til-you-hear-what's-coming" part, is simply beyond words. This one wins the Gold Award as far as I'm concerned! Empress (of Rancor) I've always loved songs that have many changes in tempo. This track is a perfect example of that. I think it also distinguishes itself by its epic vocals and melody, backed up by powerfully driving drums and guitar harmonics. Ostracized Despite its relative lack of complexity, I love the pounding heaviness of this track, as well as its very low bass sound. It also has a great (although too short) guitar solo. Griefless I like the slow heaviness of this song, its many changes of tempo and "atmospheric" feel. I think it also has some great leading drums (I know... which Grip Inc. song doesn't?) and one of the most beautiful -- and long! -- dual guitar solos that is slowly and wonderfully brought into the song, as if it naturally belonged there. Guilty Of Innocence Love the "off-beat" in this one and the furious drumming! I'll stop here for now... What about you?

I've had this song in my mind since yesterday (every time I listen to it, it won't leave me) and it's begging me to be added to my list of favorites:
Verrater (Betrayer) I love the committed vocals of the heavy parts, the original melody, powerful guitar riffs and, above all, the furious tribal drums and guitar harmonics.

Being a guitarist myself, I've always been a "riff adorer"! Generally, I think GRIP INC. combine monstrous riffs & drums with groove in an outstanding way - in fact, like no other band. For me, POIS is their best album - it has it all. I simply couldn't narrow it to less than this - they are TOO good! These are my favorite tracks: -- WAR BETWEEN ONE I really dig the intensity and brutality of this track - awesome drumming by Dave! SILENT STRANGER Groovy riffing by Waldemar! RUSTY NAIL I'm totally in love with this riff - "IT FLOATES" - and gives ME goosebumps! CODE OF SILENCE Slow at first, then ultra heavy! -- LOCKDOWN Heavy intro followed by superb melody and singing by Gus. An unpredictable riff at 02:14 makes it a killer! FORESIGHT My kind of riff again! CHALLENGE Outstanding groove - I especially dig that "rolling" riff around 2 minutes into the song. VERRÄTER (BETRAYER) Real nice melody - I adore the guitarpart beginning at 01:39! -- HOSTAGE TO HEAVEN For me, this one has it all. The riffing and drumming is UNBELIEVABLE! MONSTER AMONG US. Awesome intro. I really like the way Gus sings on this moody one, and the pluck fits like a glove. The guitarpart beginning at 03:29 is so good it hurts! GUILTY OF INNOCENCE Cool tempo, real nice guitarsolo and an ultrabrutal ending - what more can you wish for?! COLORS OF DEATH Speed kills! CLEANCE THE SEED Calm intro leeds onto a heavy-as-hell killer track! HERETIC WAR CHANT Mmm, that pumping and pounding intro riff with the tight drumming - are they really human? --
?? Do they know how good they are ??
!! I don't think so !!

?? Do they know how good they are ?? I don't think so either! I was surprised to see that we have very few favorite tracks in common BTW, I have to add "Silent Stranger" to my list -- the drums in that song are so incredibly intense and precise!

All songs are fuckin good! It's really difficult..
My favorites of Power of Innerstrength have always been:
Ostraziced Monster Among Us. (just love the intro harmony combined with Chamber's vocals) Guilty of Innocence (The riff is one of the best I've ever heard, love that song- always been one of my favorites) Innate Affliction (the lyrics just send shivers down my spine- once had a great meaning to me) Colors of Death (great intro and harmony changes - excellent song)
Nemesis:
Pathetic Liar Empress (of Rancor) The Summoning Rusty Nail War Between One
Solidify: Isolation Vindicate Human? Griefless
Had a long time not listened to this band anymore, I need to get a refresh-listen when Iam in the mood..
