So what's your favorite Grip Inc. tracks, solos, riffs, drums parts...? It's difficult to pick when all their stuff is of such high quality.
Let's see... I think my very favorite tracks would be:
Pathetic Liar
I intensely love every single note and drum beat in this song! The restrained rhythm guitar at the beginning, which soon crashes into one of the most powerful and delectable riffs I've ever heard gives me goosebumps. The guitar solo, preceeded by that slow "wait-'til-you-hear-what's-coming" part, is simply beyond words. This one wins the Gold Award as far as I'm concerned!
Empress (of Rancor)
I've always loved songs that have many changes in tempo. This track is a perfect example of that. I think it also distinguishes itself by its epic vocals and melody, backed up by powerfully driving drums and guitar harmonics.
Ostracized
Despite its relative lack of complexity, I love the pounding heaviness of this track, as well as its very low bass sound. It also has a great (although too short) guitar solo.
Griefless
I like the slow heaviness of this song, its many changes of tempo and "atmospheric" feel. I think it also has some great leading drums (I know... which Grip Inc. song doesn't?) and one of the most beautiful -- and long! -- dual guitar solos that is slowly and wonderfully brought into the song, as if it naturally belonged there.
Guilty Of Innocence
Love the "off-beat" in this one and the furious drumming!
