that's the piece from the news I came here to post. Looks like the path is coming to an end soon. Let's see how much energy Ron and Tommy have left.

Sad, but inevitable. Nothing lasts forever, especially something this GOOD.

Sad,yes, but not necessarily inevitable. Now the question is: Is Coroner without Marky still Coroner...?

Yes, it's not like Ron is being replaced on vocals or someone's replacing Tommy.
2/3 of Coroner is still 2/3 of Coroner, as I didn't think the few tracks off of their self-titled final album "wasn't them" without Marky on (I didn't even realize that wasn't him for a while as it was!).

That's a fair point, and it's true that after all finding someone to play Marky's drums parts is not impossible (even though he's an outstanding drummer!!). However,he's been there with the others from the very beginning, and more importantly,he's always been the spokesman of the band, some kind of front figure. That, added to the fact that he used to write all the lyrics, makes me think that if he goes,Coroner will lose a part of its soul....

it's official... A Message From Marky: 12 February 2014 Zürich Dear friends, 3 years ago we started rehearsing together for our reunion tour after a break of 15 years. We thought it was going to be a matter of a few shows. Now, after 3 years, we have performed 27 shows all over the world! I cannot find the words to describe how much i enjoyed every single gig. I want to thank every single one of you for coming to the shows and giving us such a phantastic time. It was a great pleasure to perform for you, shake your hands and sometimes have a drink and a chat after the show. Many thanks to all the promoters that booked us, without you we would still be sitting in our bunker rehearsing. I'm very sorry the shows we had hoped to do in Mexico, South America, Japan and Australia never happened. I was looking forward to those very much... The following is not easy to say and believe me I have given it a lot of thought. I will leave Coroner at the end of February this year. I think we have played more than enough reunion shows and now it's time to either stop doing reunion shows or to move on with a new album. For me it was clear from the start that I didn't want to record another album. I love the sound of Coroner but for me it's the moment to explore new sounds without the weight of the past on my shoulders. Ron, Tommy and I agreed that Coroner should continue with another drummer. They will announce who it's going to be on the www.coroner-reunion.com page. With all my heart I wish 'em all the best for the future. We will be brothers forever. I will continue with a new band that you will hear about in the near future. So thank you all once more and I hope we are gonna see you very soon! Best, marky

Sad news... Marky is part if CORONER's essence and it will be strange listen a new album without him. But I prefer, honestly, a new CORONER cd and knew the band will carry on. But, it's strange, also, Marky leave CORONER and stay in music with another band... Why not stay in CORONER? By the way, I'd like to see Peter Haas on drums, because he played before with CORONER (on the compilation CD "Coroner") and did a very interesting job behind drums. What you think guys?

"But, it's strange, also, Marky leave CORONER and stay in music with another band... Why not stay in CORONER?"
I was wondering precisely the same thing....weird,but he must have his own personal reasons, maybe less commitment with another band, only him knows the true reasons.
