Adbhuta wrote: Really happy of this concert, a magic moment! I really enjoyed the setlist even if i would have loved to listen to 1 song or 2 more from no more color but hey who am i to complain? THEY ARE BACK!!! I couldn't agree more. I mean no disrespect to anyone on here but what the hell! We beg for this to happen for 15 years and after one show the same fans that have been begging for this to happen are going to judge the band on the set list? I don't understand! Frankly the way the set list reads, it looks more like a continuation from where they left off then anything else. Second, it's been 15 years since they played together, for god sake let them get comfortable with everything and lets see where this ride takes us. If this becomes a very positive experience for them as a band we may very well see them wanting to record new Coroner music. Take up where they left off or return to their roots, come on! This is Coroner my friends, lets back these guys and show then how much they are appreciated.

I do not care for Grin or the self-titled finale at all really. I like Mental Vortex. No More Color is my #1 album of all-time. PfD is my #5 album of all-time. RIP is quite good. I knew they had evolved from their earlier sound. I was hoping, however, that the band would pick several songs from each album, thus giving a representative overview of their whole discography. Instead they give us one song from each of their first three discs. Based on this setlist, they clearly do not care about satisfying fans of the first half of their career.
Plus two cover tunes! What the hell?
I am beyond disheartened right now.

Your argument would be 100% spot on, but you're leaving out one ingredient/side of it: you're not any of the members of Coroner.
It's a bit different when you're actually in a band and you go through various problems, song development, what you don't feel like you can or can't listen to and/or play any more (Tommy had said at one point he can't listen to their first two albums at all and probably still feels that way to this day), etc.
Just something to keep in mind.

I agree completely. The band has every right to play whatever they want to play. And I have the right to be very saddened by their choices. Those first three albums mean so much to me and to many other fans of the band. Clearly, you can understand why I and many others would be very discouraged. I love the setlist, but I will admit I would have liked to see more NMC. The first two albums just don't cut the mustard anymore, imo. Fwiw Grin is my favourite metal album, period.
The setlist shows clearly that the band are being true to themselves by not re-heating tunes that they don't enjoy and that they are not driven by cashing-in on their legacy. More power to them.
This comment from the smn thread pretty much sums up the vibe over there "Hopefully they realize us Americans are an angry and pissy bunch of fucktards and tailor their setlist accordingly."
I couldn't said it better myself. Members of the crowd at Maryland that boo Coroner should be taken out and thrown to the alligators.

I just need to decide if I am still going to the concert.

If ANYONE boos them...Christ! They deserve a beatdown! (EDIT: that's in regards to Rehabitat's post...should've done a Quote on that one too) I have the right to be very saddened by their choices. Those first three albums mean so much to me and to many other fans of the band. Clearly, you can understand why I and many others would be very discouraged. That includes myself, but oh well. They're together and playing and touring, which we can't really ask for a whole hell of a lot more than that. Matter of fact, I heard Satan is pretty pissed that a fair amount of Hell froze over just because of that ;D

If I lived anywhere on your continent I would go to that show, no question. Consider yourselves lucky, yankeez I bought my MDF tickets already. I have not purchased my plane tickets yet though. I need to decide if I should cut my losses and try to sell my concert tickets or spend over $500 to see a set where I love three of the songs, like three more, and could care less about the rest.

There are a lot of people who like Grin and the s/t. I was not expecting an all old school set. I was expecting a set that was representative of their whole career.
