I'm a metalhead since 86 and believe me I've never listen any similar band like CORONER! They're unique! Its so true and thats what drives us crazy with them!! Though i recently stumbled upon a french tech-thrash/death band which dates from 1991, they are called Carcariass, they released 4 albums with the latest released in 2009, its called E-Xtinction and its the most Grin-era reminding album i have ever heard in all my metal life since late 80's. In my opinion they are the closest you can get to Coroner and by that i mean that you will hear Coroner references in more than 1 songs!!!. And they are also very fond of instrumentals either with long instrumental parts in their songs or plain instrumental songs. Give a listen here to Chaos & Decay from 2009 and Watery Grave from 2002 --> www.myspace.com/officialcarcariass/music/songs?filter=featured

After research I think those ones are definitly in the league of Coroner:
Deathrow Despair Depressive Age Geisha Goner (Polish obscure band who have a definitive Coroner vibe) Lunacy (CH)
but I think we have mentioned it before. Coroner's style is just very unique and impossible to reproduce. They always have something special in their sound which alot of other Thrash bands don't have but some of the mentioned bands come close esp. Despair, Deathrow.

There is a young band from Slovenia called Teleport playing some very Coroner/Vektor insipred stuffs. I even found a song clearly ripping one of themain Son of Lilith's riff.

Ok i thought I share some videos of songs from bands I also like i think are having a similar approach and vibe in their music to Coroner. But i think all can agree there comes nothing close really. For me this band is still untouched.
Voivod - Nothingface
Voivod - Dimension Hatröss
also very underrated..
Obliveon - From This Day Forward
also from Canada. Probably influenced by Coroner.
Watchtower - Control and Resistance
from the riffing it reminds on "No More Color"
genious Prog/Thrash band from Berlin germany with their "First Depression" album - very athmospheric. Only that is really good the other albums you can forget.
Realm - Suiciety
very good technical Thrash metal also criminal underrated.
Aspid - Extravasation
very fast and technical. Band from Russia.
Vektor - Outer Isolation
can't forget Vektor of course.
Didn't indtend to post this because I wanted to make blunt comparisons. Just thought some guys maybe check these albums if you haven't listened already.
