Tommy Vetterli just confirmed after his gig with 69 Chambers @ Hellfest that CORONER will be back in 2011 for several shows on festivals (Hellfest of course and more). He also told that there was no plan about anynew record.

Well, it's much better than nothing, at least! And after all these years!

That's amazing news - I hope they play the UK ...maybe they'll do a Heaven & Hell: enjoy the tour without pressure and then jump into an album ;D

They said no for a reunion, until now, right?! And it would be ridiculous to just play a few shows and let all the other fans around the world who,, unfortunately, can not attend these shows, with no witness to the reunion. I sincerely hope they reconsider that attitude and record a new album or even as already suggested, a DVD. Otherwise I will think that this meeting only served to make easy money, and the emotion to compose great songs, which always distinguished them from the others, has been extinguished by the time of separation. That would be sad!

That would be sad! You weren't in the band and almost had your friendships end when things went so badly trying to deal with Noise's crap and all. That's what nearly happened to them; over 15 years later, the whole ordeal might still have left a bad taste in their mouths. They might never have gotten back together, so we should be happy for at least that. If you think it could be a money thing--which it COULD be, I'll admit--they had all these years to do it before. They were offered a reunion slot at a concert back in 2005 and they turned it down.

And I don't think we'll get an album until they've been back together for a while and are back to being comfortable playing as Coroner again. Admitedly this might not happen but its the next hope I think. You never know, it might start to happen as they practice for next year, whenever that may be.

Yeah, because they've been busy with ex-Coroner stuff for all these years as it is: Tommy's studio, Marky's been in several bands, Ron's working, etc.

Chances of seeing them in Australia would be slim I guess, but I'm hoping hard nonetheless...

Right, now that this is official... I think I'm going to have to pick up the Coroner tribute after all to coincide!
