I posted a question on another thread asking about the details of the new issues in the US of Coroner's albums. These are the 2003 issues on the Navarro/Sanctuary label.
I noticed that there appeared to be multi-page booklets for No More Color and Punishment for Decadence. The NMC rear pic was slightly off scale; a bit larger. Same for the PFD one, while Mental Vortex only had a buzzsaw blade on the back.
Anyway, I decided to buy Metal Vortex to replace my extremely damaged original. These are my findings:
1. Not remastered. Sound is the same.
2. The booklet is inferior to the originals:
-the bar on the front covers was not the same scale as the originals. Wider, bolder. Appears everything is that scale.
-the font is different, first page is crooked. Buzzsaws in the background, as opposed to the Coroner logo.
-titles are planted where ever they designer wanted (on top, under, to the side a bit, etc.)
-the type is very fuzzy. Not clean. Almost looks like a counterfeit. I know for a fact this isn't a counterfeit, btw.
-No pictures of Coroner, no border on the back cover.
The disc itself is an improvement, with the buzzsaw art on it, while the original has the circular printing.
Overall, I'm satisfied because I get to listen to this wonderful album again.
I would love to see the albums properly reissued, though. I never got RIP, gonna get that soon. I have PFD and NMC (but the latter I've lost the booklet on), so most likely going to keep those, but I'm tempted to buy them all to keep the set and hoping there's new artwork inside.
Regardless, if you don't have the albums, don't hesitate to buy them while you still can. The cd's are well priced, as I showed in the link I provided, and the music is still brilliant and ahead of its time, all these years later.
