Hi
Coroner always had that particular sound. I have never heard any band sounding like them, or trying to copy them.
Though, I always enjoyed associate some particular bands with them, on my (now old) audio tapes.

Coroner always had that particular sound. I have never heard any band sounding like them, or trying to copy them. I certainly agree with that. Never heard any band that sounds quite like Coroner. I don't know the last two bands you mentioned... What do they sound like? |

well I also never heard the second band...but SAMAEL?!?!?!? no way.. when did they sound like Coroner?!?  I like Samael very much but they never sounded like Coroner ... |

I haven't heard any band that sounds like Coroner at all. I haven't heard Samael, but I have heard the other two. IMO, Voivod doesn't really sound like Coroner, but I've only heard a couple of songs here and there.  Treponem Pal??? ...forget it. They are nothing like and definitely not nearly as good as Coroner. I like Treponem Pal. ...but I don't hear the resemblance...anywhere. Treponem Pal... is an industrial band. The only album I have is Renegade. That particular album is a very danceable album with alot of disco influences. The Grin remix or Der Mussolini is about as close as Treponem Pal (Renegade) gets to a Coroner sound...but with disco influences. I did have the album that was released before it. I don't remember the title though. It was quite a bit heavier...about as heavy as Apollyon Sun, but the 2 don't sound alike (AS is MUCH better). |
