Celtic Frost in Sydney last year weren't bad..... SYNAGOGA SATANAE!!!!!!!!!!!
I missed the Secret Chiefs, damnit!... and Sunn O))), we were holidaying in Tasmania so I can't complain too much.
Hey Toes, did you see Striborg play that one-off with Sunn O))) in Melb last year? would've been quite somethin'

Sorry, I meant: Striborg is an obscure one man lo-fi cult black metal creepy shit outfit from Tas. Almost never plays live. Sunn are into it and distribute Striborg cds on their own label (Southern Lord). The recorded samples I've heard are pretty rough, which I believe is typical. I heard they played a small side gig during Sunn's last tour in a tiny Melb venue that would have been cool to see.
The Necks are winding up their current tour tomorrow in Sydney so they probably won't play in Aus again until next year. I recommend checking them when you can, intense and rewarding music for patient people, but much more stripped back as a pure three piece than their studio work. They are regulars on the European circuit, so check 'em out krauts and froggies!

Yeah I missed out on Ween tix as well dammit. Apparently they played for 4 hours here.
Striborg sounds interesting. The Necks have been on mt 'to see' list for some time, I'll have to get around to it one of these days...

Best gig for me in the last 12 months was Heaven & Hell back in November 2007. ...going to see Death Angel in a few days, really looking forward to that one!

Dillinger Escape Plan in Sydney May 17 will be the gig of the year I am sure. I will report back should I survive the pit...

Dillinger Escape Plan in Sydney May 17 will be the gig of the year I am sure. I will report back should I survive the pit... I'm seeing them the night before in Melbs. Can't wait. They were unbelievably intense last time. Also, I forgot to include Converge on my list. Their show at The Corner last year was extremely impressive.

I've only seen one show in the last 12 months: Down, in Cincinnati, OH. They were incredibly tight, and one of the best live vocal performances I've ever heard from Phil too (and I think he didn't even say "fuck" once the entire show ).
