Well, their Swiss friends The Young Gods have beaten Coroner to the punch, releasing a new album today entitled Data Mirage Tangram. It's brilliant BTW. Along with Coroner, TYG are a dear favourite from my youth and they never fail to impress. Hopefully Coroner can achieve a similarly successful trajectory of boundary pushing fearless creativity.

I'm pretty fearful of a new album to be honest. Most reunion albums seem to be at best a semi-inspired rehash and at worst a horrid tarnishing of a band's legacy. It kinda doesn't surprise me that this one is taking so long, it's Coroner after all and I can't imagine them being happy with anything less than a work of total quality and inspiration.

Well said. I've felt iffy about it too, not to slam them or anything, of course. It's just a bit hard for them to keep up with their past quality. At least Celtic Frost's Monotheist was mostly well-received when it came out, for instance, holding up fairly decently to their early days from their first two albums.

Right, first Tommy announces a new album. When will it be released, that is the question, but in my opinion if they officially announce it then we must be pretty close to the ultimate goal :-D

Anyway, this is really really good news, even though (and no disrespect to Diego) Coroner without Marky won't have the same flavour....
