Aw dang...heartbreaking part when they said they wouldn't be doing another album Well, too early to tell anyway, that could change. Like I probably said on here a while back, I didn't agree with what Tom Warrior of Celtic Frost said ages ago that if they were to do a new album (this was back in the 90s or early 2000s) it would have to be better than any Frost album they had ever done. I figured if whatever they did could've been at least as good as Vanity/Nemesis (just put some more 'death' into it) I would've been happy there. I don't see how Coroner could do something that would kill all their other albums, really (it'd be pretty hard! They're so good!). Too bad the live snips they showed in between the interview wasn't better quality, but it was nice to hear people shouting along "REBORN THROUGH HATE" at about the 8:00 mark

Time will tell my friend.... Just remember a few years back,on this very board....it had become very clear that a reunion was totally out of the question, they had moved on,turned the page, blah blah blah....and most of us(even those who won't admit it)had accepted the fact that it was all over. Now look at what's happening:a reunion is anounced with 2 or 3 festivals, then a gig in Lausanne, then more gigs, then 70000 tons of metal, now an official website with merchandising and stuff....you see what I mean? You should have seen them after the Lausanne show, ecstatic!!!!They just couldn't believe it,massive turn out, unbelievable atmosphere, they're having a fucking ball!!!! So let's not expect a new album, but at the same time let's not say that it will never happen....Let's just keep supporting them the best we can and let metal history take its course.... Keep on hoping brothers, and keep on rocking!!!! \m/

Never say never. Ron even said there are no plans for it. But after they do all the shows, they'll see what they want to do or where their heads are at. Time will tell

and most of us(even those who won't admit it)had accepted the fact that it was all over. Guess I wasn't part of one of the 'most of us' crowd ;D They said it would take quite a bit of time to write songs though...guess it's not a quick job for them to do... Oh, and I forgot to mention: HOW DO YOU GO 15 YEARS WITHOUT PLAYING A FRICKIN' INSTRUMENT?! I couldn't believe it when Marky said that. Sometimes it can depend on circumstances I guess, like with an interview I have with Ginger Baker of Creem being asked if he had a drum set, which he said "I'm a farmer, what the (*#! would a farmer have a drum set for? ____ (some guy) has drums at his house." Granted I don't know if he still has that lifestyle/residence, but that could be one thing, being unable to play if Marky lives in a close-net/thin-walled apartment or something where the noise would bug the neighbors. Could be a few things like that I guess.

Kevin is absolutely right,Ron said "there are NO PLANS".Does it mean it's never gonna happen? Is this statement absolutely final? 4 years ago there were "NO PLANS" for a reunion, right? ;-) Now,how do you go 15 years without playing an instrument....?? In my case I'd have to lose my fingers at the very least!!!!

Awesome news! Thanks for the update.
In case of possibility of a new album....well I saw the interview, and my feeling is like the way Marky talks translates an absolute NO from him. In parallel, if Tommy and Ron are willing to play and record, they'll have to put the new drummer's name in the logo(logically). So, I'd say it will all depend on Marky's decision, he seems to be very busy with the family though. However, If they choose hire a new drummer, I for one will never be disappointed, and will support them like before.
And, about Marky being apparently idle for 15 years, I have to say that he achieved being a professional drummer in early age, I mean which one of us have created three technical albums in such early age? So, if he has been playing drums for example a couple hours a month, yes it will somehow keep him in shape, but comparing to his Coroner days it's zero playing.

I partly agree,but.... Yes,whoever is a parent will know that 25hrs in a day is not enough ;-) So,kid+work+music on top of that gives you an insane schedule, but then again we're not talking about any sort of time frame. Tommy is also very busy with his studio and 69 Chambers, recording and touring. Somehow I can't see one member missing and the band still going,I mean that's the only band I can think of where all members are equally important and that never had a change in line up. The alchemy within the band is simply magical and I sincerely think that if Marky(or Ron or Tommy)was no longer in the band,Coroner would lose its soul....

Heh, looks like they swiped a bunch of stuff from this very site, with the intro write-up from the front page to the tour dates from Iron Felix on here ;D
