I just got my copy of Grin in the mail, and I'm finding the album to be absolutely AMAZING. It was definitely worth the money spent. I really glad you have it and are enjoying it; further to prove that it needs to be reissued, for the newer listeners to appreciate. Grin, and for that matter "Coroner" definitely don't show up on Ebay as often as the earlier releases, and very rarely seem to be a brand new copy (I've only seen one new copy of Grin lately, sealed for more than a decade). I guess I can bitch all I want, but I really don't know what to do about it...any constructive suggestions are welcome.

Bitch to whoever owns the rights to Futurist's catalog to re-issue it, I guess.

Bitch to whoever owns the rights to Futurist's catalog to re-issue it, I guess. Definitely this. And to rehabitat: Thank you for the kind words. I'm 18 and I thorougly love me some Coroner. They're one of my favorite Thrash bands to date, and I'm working on getting me some more. It's amazing how few people have even heard of the band these days.

SacrificedSon, I'm 19 and couldn't agree more.
One my dreams after college is to amass a large amount of money and buy the rights to Coroner's discog, then work intricately with Marky, Tommy and Ron to do incredibly-awesome-yet-affordably-priced reissues.

Nice dream, I share it with you. How about a full series of remastered albums, and a definitive boxed-set with a 2-cd best-of, all the video clips and taped interviews and an awesome live collection dvd/cd?

Yes, absolutely...although I don't know about best-ofs. I'd rather do a CD set of rare live stuff and the last tape they gave out on the finale tour. The DVD is of course a must.

ok ok but what about a retrospective? But seriously a best-of should be a compilation of an artists "best", as opposed to a greatest hits collection, of which Coroner never had any. Of course this is very subjective, which is why I suggested 2 cds rather that just one. I'm sure I could easily fill 2 cds. In fact, I remember making a Coroner mix tape about 10 years ago for my mother, a total of 90 minutes of all killer and no filler. She loved it by the way, and my little brother still has it in his car.
Anyway, when you make your fortune and you decide to move, count me in brother!

Making a "best of" album of Coroner is absolutely impossible. It won't fit.... ;D BTW welcome to the club of Coroner fans. May there legacy live forever.

In fact, I remember making a Coroner mix tape about 10 years ago for my mother, For your MOTHER?! Holy sh*t! Unbelievable! The only Coroner I can play for MY mom are the acoustic/non-metal intros off of R. I. P. ;D

He, Witchfynde, the guy is 18. So his mother is about 38..... You are...? Exactly. She's giving him the right upbringing. She probably also has some weird shit like Iron Maiden, Anthrax and AC/DC, you know, the good old days. When MetalHammer was a Xeroxed magazine and metal was "underground".(Whatever that means)

He, Witchfynde, the guy is 18. So his mother is about 38..... Heh, good catch. Still something you don't exactly hear every day though... "My mom likes Joni Mitchell." "Yeah, my mom's got several albums--whatever those are; vinyl things--from Simon and Garfunkel." "Oh yeah my mom's into music too! In fact, just today she was blasting her favorite Coroner tune of 'Skeleton on Your Shoulder'!" "HUH?"

On a side note, Joni is really, really good too.
I mean, "Hejira"?
Killer jams.

Last time I checked I was 34, and my mother turns 50 in a month. Stillplaying, I think you have me confused for someone else, maybe the same person you are welcoming to the forum; I've been around for a few years...
My mum's cool btw. She is quite a creative and open-minded person (she was/is? an artist). I first met her when I was 21 and proceeded to expand her musical tastes.
I also like Joni Mitchell, in small doses. Her old bass player, the late Jaco Pastorius, was a genius.
All this off-topic of course, but I'm glad it has stimulated some discussion.

???Oh, yes, i see it now, sorry dude. I was absorbed, totally confused... Btw1 If anyone is interested in a complete works CD-ROM, mp3, sent me a message. The more fans the merrier. Btw2 Yesterday i visited "Stonehenge" (a metal festival, Holland) There was a new Dutch band called Detonation. They where absolutely fantastic. A lot of Coroner influences. Check it out: www.myspace.com/detonationnl ;D
