I said GODDAMN! "Mistress" is a bitch (hahha!) when it gets to the harmonic minor speed-picking part after the chorus. Props to you, Zodiak, I'm xNefeshx on youtube and have praised you there before as well.

Thanks a bunch. And that's what the speed-scale is called....harmonic minor? Interesting. I can't read music and barely know what I am doing other than "this sounds sorta right"....heheh. I just learned what the symbols on my guitar scale poster meant a couple of months ago....never could figure it out before.
And you are right....."Mistress" is a bitch. It's not something I would want to play night after night....another reason to respect our favorite three Swiss friends.
An archive of covers of Coroner? That would be nice if *real* bands did it. I bet Necrophagist could do a kick-ass cover of Coroner. Until then, us fans will do our best to fill the gaps....heck, there are more gaps then there are filled in spaces.
Up-thread another bass player mentioned doing Masked Jackal with fingers....that would be incredible! I, like all Coroner, can only do it with a pick. About the only Coroner I'd do without a pick is "I Want You"....LOL.

Yeah, there are a few bands here and there that do the occasional Coroner cover, someone did "Masked Jackal", maybe a couple of bands have, I'm not sure. (Or maybe that's who you were referring to?) Until then, us fans will do our best to fill the gaps....heck, there are more gaps then there are filled in spaces. Don't you mean "more locks than keys"? ;D |

Oh heck no, Necrophagist has not done a Coroner cover as far as I know. But I do know that they have enough technical skill across the entire band to pull it off and do it well.
More locks than keys.....that is an apt analogy. I know that on youtube, there are like 30 songs from Coroner that are untouched. But that's okay....means my work is cut out for me.

I know Rob from Incantation has been seen with a Coroner shirt on but I looked up their discography and it wasn't them either. The only CORONER cover from a *leggy* band I had ever heard was "Paralyzed, Mesmeryzed" by SCEPTIC, I think it is on the web site now, no?
zodiak, great work! "Mistress..." (is a bitch  ) is perhaps my favorite CORONER tune 
... and great nick here, did you liked that movie last year?

For the covers i have those mentioned above and i have another one made by Misanthrope (Great french band by the way): Reborn through hate. i will upload that  I have seen that a split ep with Canvas Solaris and Pharaoh exists? The tracks are Arc Lite and Tunnel of Pain. I am not sure if it's out now...or very hard to find. |

If it's going to be titled "Be Gone", then that'll be out in March, which I found under a Pharaoh listing. If not, well, that'll be their next album anyway... |

Yeah, Be Gone is Pharoah's next full-length, not the EP. I actually emailed with their bass player, who says Pharoah's half of the 7" is only partially done...we're looking at an August release.
Having heard Canvas Solaris' rendition of "Arc Lite," however, I can tell you that you're in for a treat.

I've often dreamt of Dillinger Escape Plan doing a suitably insane cover of Read My Scars or Die By My Hand. I think these songs suit their style. Awesome renditions, especially being by ear man. I'll be buggered if I can hear half the notes Ron plays on NMC. Those are some blurry fingers on RMS, and that scale work on MOD....fukin WOW..... Look after that big heart man |
