Marky wrote back and said he met Ron and Tommy two weeks ago to talk about the reunion. Unfortunately, he said it was now 100% sure there would be no Coroner reunion or live shows. He explained the main reason was that neither he, Ron, nor Tommy had the time it would require to do this properly (I'm not too surprised he said that, because the Swiss typically don't like to do things half-assed,) and also because neither of them liked to, I quote, "reheat things, except spaghetti sauce." Marky explicitly asked me not to post his email on the web, but he said that they were all extremely touched by the interest of all the fans and -- for this very reason I believe -- they would meet again in two weeks for two other things he doesn't want me to reveal yet. Both things are still very uncertain, and one of them -- the most uncertain of the two -- is particularly exciting, although it's not a reunion, and it's not a new album. Keep checking this board and the Coroner site for news because one of the things he talked about, if it happens, will be an exclusive time-limited opportunity that will be announced here. More news about all those mysteries as soon as I hear from Marky again and get the green light from him!

Well, it's a massive shame, but I suppose we can only respect their decision. At least they met up and gave it some consideration. I'm intrigued by the other surprises though... I'll patiently await further news.... Hail Coroner!!

I wonder if those "other things" might include some unreleased stuff. Since they said they've got some shows filmed and stuff, a DVD or something of the sort would be most welcome.

Yeah, I read it on Blabbermouth.net today. Absolutely terrible- but yeah, nothing but respect to the technical trio! All the records are great.

=sigh= Oh well... i was not expecting them to really reunite for a new coroner album. Yet i'm still disappointed. We'll see. Maybe they have something NEW for us (not coroner) but they could participate to another kind of band all together?

well.
what to say?
CORONER will always be - period. And they probably gain even more respect for being serious into this kind of things too - they didn't want us to be disappointed with something new so they just didn't do that. That's what I'd call integrity.
Thanx to CORONER for being CORONER, and THANX TO CAROLE, for her incredible support to fans out there. You rule girl.
I'll be lloking for more CORONER news soon. Yeah, it's a bummer, but lemme spin GRIN once again.
CIAO u all!

I say we kidnap all 3 of them, tie em up and torture them with culture club music til they agree to play.... OK... who's with me ? Not me, I'm not about to do that to one of my all-time favorite bands! Well, I knew upon clicking on this thread that it wouldn't be good news. Meh... and also because neither of them liked to, I quote, "reheat things, except spaghetti sauce." Heh...yeah, but there's nothing wrong with coming up with something new in the same vein as before, just as long as it's GOOD. However, it's easy to listen to something and think one thing, rather than being a musician who actually plays it: your opinions are usually different than theirs (i. e. one of them [think it was Tommy] said he can't listen to their first two albums at all, yet most of US still can ). He explained the main reason was that neither he, Ron, nor Tommy had the time it would require to do this properly Well, that's cool (still sucks though), you don't want to sound like ass, due to some new reality show (dunno what it's called) where they bring back either one hit wonders or bands that were popular for about 15 minutes...heard either the singer of Loverboy or maybe the whole band got fat and sounded just as bad. Too bad I missed that one, I needed the laugh... Marky explicitly asked me not to post his email on the web, but he said that they were all extremely touched by the interest of all the fans So, maybe there's still a faint hope that they'll keep in mind about how we're all still here and might eventually either play live again or release a new cd.

Argh, well, I guess I'm not surprised. I'm definitely happy that they don't just want to slap together a tour, go out, and sound like crap, which bands do every now and then *cough*Van Hagar*cough ;D This one quote from Carole has me wondering though... So...that means perhaps an EP instead?

This one quote from Carole has me wondering though... So...that means perhaps an EP instead? You are very observant, GlidingAbove... I was wondering if anyone would catch the italic on that word ;D What they have in mind is sadly as unsure at this time as a Coroner reunion was a couple months ago. Let's just pray to the metal gods...

Let's just pray to the metal gods... I'm pretty sure that Judas Priest has nothing to do with this
... and now when you think... what usualy is coming after an EP
